SUKRITI
Have you asked your favorite Gen AI model to optimize the html code for
reading with Voice over on Mac in Safari? I've had pretty good luck with
Chat GPT, but it took some time to build the master prompt so I could
reproduce the results.

Have it check trusted sources and best practices for math accessibility at
the level and completely of the math in your documents. Have it build you a
master prompt that updates any time you find bugs and improve solutions.
Include the formatting template that works for you, like chapter hearings
in H1, subsections H2, evaluate and exercise headings H3, work exercises in
plain text formatted as graduated lists. Have it describe graphs and
visuals, and generate a detailed summary of low confidence sections, images
that had missing alt text descriptions and any issue that it didn't know
how to fix, so you have a list of manual checks for your support services
or for the publisher of the content.

I upload the visual pages as pdf or images, along with the Math ML output
converted with mathpix (either exported to ms word or directly to html
mathml or latex) Mathpix is the key to my math remediation workflows.

Here are some tools that might help:

   - the free Central Access Reader can convert MS Word file, with math
type or Equation editor to accessible html
   - Math pix: the best math and text ocr digitization engine with a snip
tool to capture math anywhere, and the web interface that covers full PDF
no matter how bad the file is made, just so the content is clearly visible.
It also accepts latex, html, and other input protocols as input into the
Web app and can expert to even more.
   - There is a free online tool for converting inaccessible math docs to
accessible html called Math kicker (I isn't as editable and robust as
MathPix, but it's free and easy to use, no download or install required.)

I can't tell you how valuable MathPix has been to my ability to remediate
math at scale for students who require alt format accommodations. It was
also a great tool for learning latex. And loading docs into the Web
interface can make them significantly more screen reader friendly
immediately in the interface. We pay around 100 per year for the first 2
licenses and about half of that for every additional seat. (It's probably
more now, but cheaper than tools like Equatio and InftyReader)

But shout out to inftyreader which was the first math ocr engine that first
made it possible to convert math in any kind of batch, so much respect for
the Japanese programmers that gave us that solution.

I'm not somewhere i can check my info for accuracy, but the references
should give you enough info to do a deep dive into the tools mentioned.
Hope that is helpful.

I'm on vacation this week, but if you have questions or would like more
detailed info on my AI master prompts, doc templates, or links to the tools
i mentioned, email me and we can talk when I'm back in the office. Good
luck.
