[BlindMath] Mathpix

Hello Bert,

I loved LaTeX in its time, but I now use markdown almost exclusively.

If I was looking for a clean version of someone else's work, I'd take markdown over LaTeX every time. The range of formatting commands is considerably smaller in markdown.

The ratio of content to formatting is therefore very high, and you won't get a backslash until you hit a symbol or equation.

All the best,
Jonathan

Subject: [BlindMath] Mathpix

Hello everyone,

As are others on the list, I am a user of MathPix. It is very good in converting PDF documents to Latex. However, as is the case with Latex, it is sometimes a bit cumbersome to read with a Braille display especially if there is a bit of formatting in the equations. Mathpix allows conversion to latex, markdown, mathhpix markdown ... among other formats. Do people have experience with these formats and which one is easiest to read with a Braille display? Note that I am not a great 2-braille reader and so using the (experimental) Braille output with JAWS for Windows is not an option.

Kind regards,
Bert
