Hello,

I would strongly recommend purchasing a JAWS Home Annual license. It will give your student more independence and the features you've asked for. I would highly recommend this, no matter which other solutions you find.

One other solution, just so you're aware, is the AI built into the BeMyEyes desktop PC app. As long as you have the app open, even if another app has focus, you can press control alt s, and it will describe the screen. However, JAWS has better features for that and more. Very best of luck to you and your student. Feel free to email me at

 Good afternoon,
I have a student with a visual impairment who does not use JAWS, NVDA, or other screen-reading software. He primarily relies on text-to-speech technology but is experiencing difficulty interpreting images that contain a large amount of information.
Is there a text-to-speech solution available that can read image descriptions or alt text aloud? Any recommendations or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your assistance.
