Dear Family & Friends,
As most of you know, Merry and I are very dedicated to the work and mission of the National Federation of the Blind. The NFB has been a major force in changing my life for the better and was instrumental in bringing Merry and me together. In fact, we got engaged during the 2008 National Convention in Dallas, Texas!
During the 2009 Convention of the NFB in Detroit, Michigan, Merry and I will participate in the Third Annual March for Independence: A Walk for Opportunity. The donations raised will benefit the National Federation of the Blind's Imagination Fund. The Imagination Fund supports local and state outreach efforts benefiting blind people in our local community - blind children, teens, youth, college students, adults, and seniors losing their vision - as well as the programs and initiatives of the National Federation of the Blind (NFB) Jernigan Institute. The National Association of Guide Dog Users, for which I serve as President, will be applying for a grant from the Imagination Fund for the creation of a national toll-free advocacy, support, and educational hotline for guide dog users!
I want to invite you to join the work I do on behalf of the blind by sponsoring me in the 2009 March for Independence. As a special thanks for your support, I will send you an electronic copy of "Surrounded by the Light", an original composition loosely based on Psalm 23 and the first completed track from my current recording project . Additionally, in celebration of Easter, I will also include a bonus track - "Morning Has Broken" - to anyone who contributes during the month of April, along with a $5.00 voucher for the purchase of the completed album. You may do so by making an on-line donation at

You will receive an automatic acknowledgement of your contribution through the website. If you would like to make your donation by mail, please make the check or money order payable to "National Federation of the blind" with my name in the memo and send it to
