[Blindtlk] HR 3101: How would it impact us who are blind or visually-impaired?

Michelle,
Be careful what you ask for. Each of us has been at time unkind,
uncharitable, or unjust. We have all acted with greed or a sense of
entitlement. When we see it in others, we tell ourselves just what
they deserve for it. When we do it ourselves, we are seldom so quick
to condemn. Others see it for what it is, though.
Unintended consequences could apply to us as easily as anyone else.
Do you want to have to give medical information to your cable, phone,
and internet companies, for example? Hopefully there's nothing so
onerous in this bill, but if there is?
How about if it required every man, woman, and child with a
disability to register with a new federal Department of Disability
Affairs and wear a medical bracelet identifying their diagnosis?
If you haven't read the bill, how do you know if there's anything
like that in there? Or anything that could be construed to authorize
anything like that? Disciples of Peter Singer are landing government
oversight positions, after all.

How many children in America are not taught how to read?
If they are blind, the answer is 90%.
