[Blindtlk] blindtlk Digest, Vol 32, Issue 3

My rigid cane is on its third year and holding up pretty nicely. My
telescopic canes last about six months, breaking most often at the
bottom joint, or sometimes at the top cap if that can be unscrewed.
I tend to prefer to carry a telescopic cane as a backup or for use
when it is inconvenient to grab my rigid cane (tangled up in chair
legs or across the room or whatever.) When student teaching, I clip
my telescopic cane to my belt so I have one within reach at a
second's notice, in case I need to leave the classroom and can't go
fetch my rigid cane.
