Lyn,
This is when you book through a travel agent like myself
When booking a cruise, once you made reservations and put a deposit down,
you will get an e-mail confirming your reservation from the cruise lines.
You will have a reservations no. and confirmation no.
Now depending on the cruise line, you have to go website. I am going to use
carnival as an example.
You go to Carnival.com and create an account with all your pertinent
information, which credit card you want to use, passport no, emergency
information, if you want to pay for gratuities up front, the only thing you
cannot do is pay any remaining balance on the cruise, that you do through
your travel agent.
You can pick your excursions and get all information on your cruise there.
Now 45 days prior to your cruise, you can print out what is called
e-documents. They cruise lines used to mail them to us and then priority
mail them to our client.
Now it is all electronic documents, you will have your boarding pass, and
also tag for you luggage, it will have your stateroom no on it.
I hope this answers your question.
The biggest compliment you can pay me is to recommend my services!
