[Blindtlk] Broiling: Oven Door Opened or Closed?

Dear All,
I did some research on the question of whether the oven door should be left ajar or closed. The overwhelming answer was to leave the door opened. The reason for this is that, when broiling, you want the broiler coil to be actively burning throughout the broiling session. If the door is closed, the oven could reach a temperature at which the broiling coil would turn off. Keeping the oven door opened allows the heat to escape, thus keeping the broiler coil hot! HTH!
