Thanks to all for your help.
There was a series of issues that had to be resolved. First, I forgot
that the embosser choice has to be set in the document and global.
Second, I went on the Index website and downloaded there add an embosser
utility that worked pretty slick.
After all that it still didn't emboss so I asked a coworker for help.
She found a tractor strip had peeled off the paper and was masking the
paper sensor.
It is working great now.
Thanks for your help.

I'd give them a call and find out. I would not think USB would be
optional.

Thank you, Gary and Lloyd. I tried a USB to serial with no positive
results. I downloaded a 10.7 Demo but it only included parallel and
serial.
I wonder if USB is an optional download or if it intentionally left of
on
the demo.

Hello Paul. I have 10.7 and it does show USB as a printer choice. This
doesn't directly answer your question, but if you upgrade, you
definitely
should have USB support.

Greetings to all!
Does anyone on the list know if is possible to use a Basic D on a USB
port
with Duxbury 10.5. The Duxbury embosser setup only lists serial and
parallel ports, of which my PC has neither.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
Paul
