Hi Julie,
My dad and sister taught me a new game recently. It's a card game
called Wizzard. It's not available in braille as far as I know but
it's easy to get and braille. Wizzard deck contains the 52 cards plus
4 wizzard cards and 4 jesture cards. It's not hard once you learn it
and directions are included. Backgammon is also a really fun board
game as is Othello. Othello is available at Future Aids and
Backgammon I believe is available at Independent Living aids. I
bought my Wizzard deck at a store called Games by James but I'm sure
it's available elsewhere. HTH. Also, you can buy tactual Cribbage
boards and a braille deck of cards. One more thing. There is
available a card book that tells of lots of different games you can
play with a simple deck of cards. Oh, I thought of one more. Rack-o.
Again, it has 60 cards easy to braille. The numbers are 1 through 60.
The new version has other stuff on them but you can play the old way.
The little racks have raised numbers down the sides too. It's fun.
Just tought an 8 year old how to play not long ago.
Peace,
cari
