[Blindtlk] games

Hi Julie,
Apples to apples is a card game suitable for most ages, although children
much younger than 10 might struggle with it a bit, as there is some content
knowledge that will likely be beyond them.
There are two sets of cards; red and green. Each red card has an adjective
on it, and each green card has a noun. Everyone gets five green cards.
Everyone takes turns being the judge. A red card is turned over revealing
an adjective. Everyone except the judge for that round tosses in a green
card they believe best fits with the adjective for that round. The green
cards are turned in anonymously so the judge doesn't know who turned in
which cards. The judge then reads out each of the green cards, then picks
one he or she thinks best fits the red card. Obviously this is highly
subjective, and can be very funny.
If the judge for that round picks your green card, you win that round and
collect the green cards. The person with the most green cards at the end of
the game wins.
Most of the fun comes from trying to guess what the judge will pick, so
sometimes the wackier card is the better pick than the obvious one,
depending on who is deciding. This is definitely a more social game, and
can take a good hour and a half or so to play out.
Enjoy,
Brian

Thanks!
Can you describe a bit of how to play? I haven't heard of this game. How
long does it take to play? Is it appropriate for all ages? How much
concentration does it take, meaning is it a social game or more of a
challenging one?
Thanks much,
Julie
