Diane,
It is fairly easy to lock your N82 keypad.
To lock your phone; press the left soft key followed by the asterisk (*).
This key combination is a toggle function; so to unlock the keypad simply
press left soft followed by asterisk again.
If you bump any other keys while the phone is locked; you will hear a
message saying "press unlock then asterisk". No more mysterious purse
calls.
Note that the left soft key is the same key you probably use to start the
KNFB Reader. However, if the asterisk is pressed immediately within 1
second after this key; then the lock occurs.
I hope this helps.
Regards.
Tony

Hi All,
I have finally gotten my phone activated through AT&T. Yay! Had to wait
until I could get rid of Verizon.
I am just getting to know the phone controls and I'm wondering if there is a
way to lock the phone when it is not being used. I have some of my contacts
programmed into the phone, and I am finding that, when it is in my purse,
and my purse gets jostled at all, as in when I am carrying it, it starts
calling people from my contact list. (smile) Is there something I can do to
prevent this?
Any pointers would be appreciated.
Thanks, [cid:image002.gif at 01CAC99F.1A24E8D0]
