[Blindtlk] Bonnie, a question about moving wasRE: Packing for my move?

Good morning everyone,

We're among the "Been there and done that" as we recently moved to
another apartment due to a condo conversion at our former residence. We used
North American Van Lines for our move and they did an outstanding job even
to uninstalling and reinstalling our home theater system. And it wasn't a
subcontractor who did the home theater de and reinstallation. It was the
General Manager and the Sales Agent for A-1 Freeman Moving and Storage North
American's local agent in San Antonio. The home theater works better now
than it did when Geek Squad installed it at our previous residence in 2006.

As for packing moving companies also have packing and unpacking service
available for an additional charge. But if you find this chore too
exhausting having the moving company do this for you is worth it. You could
work with them to label the boxes in both print and Braille to make finding
things easier when the move is complete. We're still unpacking boxes but
plan to have them all unpacked by year's end. We used many of the
suggestions all ready given so I won't elaborate on what has all ready been
said. In addition to entertainment systems moving companies can also pack
and unpack computers and electronics and other items needing special
attention for an additional charge. They also offer post move-out and
premove-in cleaning if needed again for an extra charge. Since our old
residence was slated for renovation we did not have it cleaned after
everything was out. Folks at the Oaks of Marymont where we now live cleaned
this apartment before we began moving in so there was no need for us to have
this done by the movers. Hope this helps.

Peter Donahue who along with wife Mary enjoy life at the Acacia our new
townhome.

Marsha,
At one time, American Van Lines offered NFB members discounts and made a
contribution to the organization. You may want to check with the national
office to see if theser arrangements are still available.
