[Blindtlk] ADA accomodations for jury duty??

Hi Michelle,

When you say they will offer a $20 plus mileage, how is the mileage determined? Did you ask them whether they might pay for mileage in a cab, or the equivalent of the cab fare? Of course, then you run the risk of just having them "let you off the hook" and telling you to stay home.

How flexible are your parents' schedules? Would it be possible for one of them to get a day off if this is something you would really like to do?

I apologize if these are options which have already been considered.

Subject: [Blindtlk] ADA accomodations for jury duty??

Hi All,
I rarely write in, but I've been called for jury duty. I'm perfectly
happy to participate, I would even LIKE to. However, I called the
Saginaw MI county courthouse & spoke with the jury specialist. They
don't provide transportation. I live aprox. 30 miles away, so a $20
check plus mileage isn't going to cover costs. I live at home with my
parents & they both work. Any suggestions on how I can work around
this? Other 'family' isn't an option, it's just my parents & 3 younger
sisters, no extended family living around us.
Thank you in advance,
Michelle
