I would have to agree. Rhodes and Banquet make pretty good bread which is
simple to make and not too expensive.  There is just something exciting
about the aroma of fresh baked bread, about to be smothered with fresh
creamery butter!

The easiest thing to do is to buy the varieties of frozen bread or roll
dough at your grocery store and go according to directions.

People have been making bread long before breadmakers, so you can definitely
do this.  I believe there are bread cookbooks either in Bookshare or with
the NLS  library.  If you subscribe to the BARD digital books, you may get
cookbooks with bread and roll recipes there.

Also try recipes.com or cooks.com and do a search for bread recipes.  Follow
the directions in the recipes exactly, as you are dealing with yeast and
want your bread to rise, but don't be afraid of making mistakes, either. 
I've had bread recipes flop, and I'll bet everyone else who makes it has,
too.
