[Blindtlk] gross but what do I do?

Diane and all,

Thanks for the help. I am really clueless about all of this.

I saw the surgeon this morning who did the enucleation. Apparently I was
not reacting normally to the prosthetic. I am relieved that it wasn't
something I was doing wrong like not cleaning frequently enough. I have
drops to fix that problem and he suggested to clean the prosthesis weekly.
We'll see how it goes.

Okay for those of you who mentioned cleaning prosthesis in the shower, do
you actually take it out or are you talking about just running water over
your face?

One more question, I was given contact lens cleaning solution and
conditioner to use, but was also told that I could use 3% hydrogen peroxide.
My prosthesis is acrylic and apparently protein build up is going to be a
problem for me. Any helpful hints on cleaning?

I promise not to try any new cleansers or do anything crazy without checking
with appropriate professionals first. I am just having a hard time getting
those professionals to commit to firm answers. It's a lot of "time and
experience will let you know when you need to clean it". It's kind of
frustrating.

TIA
Julie
