Hi Deanna.  I just thought I'd explain why it takes five or six weeks 
until someone who has had their eye(s) removed would be ready for their 
fitting.  If there is any swelling inside of the eye socket, that has to 
heal, as do the muscles from having been cut and reattached.  Also, when 
the implant(s) are first put in, they are centered in the socket.  As the 
muscles heal though and get back to normal, the implants could get pulled 
in one direction or another by the healing muscles and the ocularist has 
to wait until whatever movement which will happen happens and settles 
down.  The ocularist will make the eye shell to compensate for any 
migration that the implant has made.  If you get the surgery and the 
implant migrates, don't worry about it at all, it's just part of things. 
My right one pulled toward the right side some.
