[Blindtlk] the reason why -- six weeks

Hi Deanna. I just thought I'd explain why it takes five or six weeks
until someone who has had their eye(s) removed would be ready for their
fitting. If there is any swelling inside of the eye socket, that has to
heal, as do the muscles from having been cut and reattached. Also, when
the implant(s) are first put in, they are centered in the socket. As the
muscles heal though and get back to normal, the implants could get pulled
in one direction or another by the healing muscles and the ocularist has
to wait until whatever movement which will happen happens and settles
down. The ocularist will make the eye shell to compensate for any
migration that the implant has made. If you get the surgery and the
implant migrates, don't worry about it at all, it's just part of things.
My right one pulled toward the right side some.
