I had my right eye removed September of 2009, and my left eye removed
July of 2010. I have no more pain whatsoever, and people constantly
comment on my eyes. My ocularist is very thorough, and he told me not
to take the prosthetics out to clean them unless they are bothering
me. If i have discharge build up, I wipe the prosthetics off with
water while they are still in my eye sockets. If you are having pain
that is making it difficult for you to function, I would not hesitate
to have the eye or eyes removed. I know that making the decision to
have an eye or eyes removed is not easy, but for me it has been worth
it. If i can answer any questions, please feel free to write to me or
ask on the list.
