[Blindtlk] FW: Army's First Blind Active-Duty Officer

Let me see if I can explain why it sometimes happens this way. I'm afraid it's got to do with the fallinness of human nature. There are times, (I hope not too many), that we get so tired of negative portrayals of blindness that we tend at times to become very intolerant of even the slightest inaccuracies. And, it may very well be that, in our weariness against such, we tend tl lash out at those whom we suppose ought to know better. Perhaps I should try to be a little more specific here. It wasn't my intention to lash out at the captain himself; rather, the reporting of his story. But, after all, we are all human, blind or not. What this tends to show is that we blind are also vonerable to the weaknesses of human nature, with all the failings that implies.
Sincerely,
The Constantly Barefooted Ray!!!

I'm not happy with the way blind individuals and other disabled are portrayed as well. A great number of non-disabled individuals are just not educated concerning what the disabled population can accomplish. Giving negative and angry responses to articles and news features will not help the situation. However, my question is why do people on this list have to come across so angry when responding?
