[Blindtlk] Facebook Question

Hi. The mobiel Facebook site might not be so easy to use on a PC this week,
because they are making changes to serve different content to different
kinds of phones.

I use the regular Facebook page with Window-Eyes, and just expect changes
and lots of unlabeled and dynamic links and buttons. Often buttons will
appear in your virtual buffer when you make a change, such as starting the
process of friending someone.
I would not recommend giving Facebook your address book and having them
send out friend requests on your behalf. The algorithm doesn't distinguish
between listservs and other addresses. Better to grow your list of
acquaintances more deliberately.

It may seem sneaky, but as I see messages from people who are friends of
friends, I take time out to go to their Facebook page and submit a friend
request if I want to. Some of them show lists of their friends, which gives
you even more avenues to explore. Starting from two years ago, I have about
230 friends, perhaps 30 of whom are blind. Judy hasn't quite gotten the
Facebook bug, yet.
