[Blindtlk] blindtlk Digest, Vol 58, Issue 10

I played with sighted kids in regular pickup football games in high
school and college. I played mostly center and either guard or tackle
usually on the right side of the line. You can get footballs with bells in
them. Like Steve Benson, I found a way to pull my weight with sighted kids
or I wasn't going to participate. While getting hurt was a possibility, I
never really worried about it since I was in shape and I could handle just
about anybody so long as they didn't weigh 300 pounds. Nowadays, my
techniques wouldn't be legal since I'd take the knees out from the guy
across from me. I also could snap for punts and field goals and hold for
field goals as well. I did intercept a pass once because I would rush the
passer with my hands and invariably I'd knock a ball down.
