[Blindtlk] Navigating Cafeteria Lines

Hello everyone,
I think navigating through cafeteria lines is definitely doable. I'll be
honest though as I find that when I have my Seeing Eye dog with me, going
through a buffet line is far more difficult My dog is very strong, and trying
to hold a tray while holding his harness in my other hand is a challenge.
In those situations, I usually ask someone if they would mind helping me
carry my tray.
I think it is much easier to go through the line using my cane, as I find
it's easier to balance the tray or plate.
Any thoughts??

Liz

Why would you assume you were going to make us mad? This fellow was asking
for techniques. You gave him yours.

Hello,

So I'm probably going to piss off a few NFB'ers right now, and I
really don't care. I can navigate a line just fine on my own. I feel
the person in front of me with my cane, I hear them moving, or I
engage in a conversation with them in order to know when they move. If
I use the third option, when i get to the buffet I utilize their help
with the line. If not, then I ask someone around me or if anyone is up
there I ask them. I can blunder around, I can feel with a wooden spoon
or ladel or whateverand guess by what I feel as to what's there, but I
prefer to do it iwth help because it flows much smoother.

Thanks.
