Mikewhen I was a child we lived next door to a totally bline couple. The husband used power tools including saws. My dad would go over to help and at first he was concerned the man would get injured using the tools but soon learned the man was capable of working with them.He didn't have to enter the world of the blind sleep shades or whatever. He needed to observe and realize for himself the capabilities of the man. I'm totally blind myself and our neighbors taught me more about blindness than school or really anything else or anyone. I learned that I could be who I was meant to be. I'm glad I learned that as a young child instead of much later.
