Hey, Humberto,
No worries. This kind of question is perfectly acceptable, public
archived list or not. In fact, this sort of question,in my oppinion,
can perhaps show newly blind people who search online for information
about blindness that it's ok to be frustrated, and it's more than ok to
find out from others how to apply blindness-related skills to daily living.
First, what do you currently use to pour your powdered substance into
your milk?
I used to use a t spoon, and I also made a little bit of a mess with
that. So I found after some time, that if you use one of those little,
plastic coffee scoops, it keeps your sugar or whatever else securely
within untill you're ready to dump it into your drink. Basically, it's
almost like a really deep spoon;Sometimes they are round with a flat
bottom, kind of like a really tiny pan, sometimes they're shaped like
cones with a handle. You can sometimes find them in a canister of Iced
T mix or other powder drink mixes, or you can probably buy them really
really cheap at a discount store like WalMart or something. They're
really easy to find; You might already have one at home, as a matter of fact.
The trick with one of those scoops is to not fill it all the way to the
top with the sugar, because then it spills over. You can feel with your
finger how full the scoop is by gently touching it's rim. In time you
will gauge by it's weight in your hand if you've scooped just enough or
too much powder. Don't be afraid to fill the scoop nearly to the
top, especially if it's cone shaped, because it'll do a good job
containing the substance till your ready to dump it in to the liquid.
Be sure to try and keep your hand steady while transfering the powder
to your drink; That's perhaps one of your problems. Also, another tip is
to keep the sugar container very close to your glass of milk; Make sure
they're touching in fact. That almost guarantees that you won't spill
any of the sugar in between the glass and the sugar container.
Well, I know this was long, but I hope it wasn't confusing. Hope I
helped, at least a little.
Feel free to ask further questions.
