[Blindtlk] Does She Need to go to the Bathroom?Re: Who Bathes You?

Dear All,
Though the "Who bathes you?" is an insulting question that was asked
about 10 years ago, I would like to share another. A friend of mine who uses
a guide dog came to my mother-in-law's funeral last week. I didn't bring my
guide dog for personal reasons, opting to use my white cane. As we were
entering the chapel, someone from the funeral home came up to me and asked,
"Does she need to go to the bathroom?" My response, of course, was, "I
don't know! You will have to ask her?" I guess sighted people know when
someone else needs to go potty, so they think blind people can tell, too!
They certainly seemed confused when we don't have the same abilities as
they!

Fraternally yours,
Marion
think blind people share a lot....including bladders!
