[Blindtlk] gardening

This year I am going to try tomatoes and bell peppers in pots. If all goes
well, I want to add some different vegetables next year, possibly using part
of the yard for a more traditional garden.

What I really need to know is how to tell if the plants are healthy. How
will I know if there are bugs that need to be removed or killed? How will I
know what kind of bugs they are?Is there some way to tell if the plant has
some sort of plant disease? Is there some way of keeping down the weeds
when the plants are small? I think I will be able to tell what is a weed
when the plants are bigger, but I don't want to pull the wrong thing up when
they are all little. What things should I look for to tell if the plants are
getting to much or too little water, sun or wind?

I'm truly hopeless when it comes to green things! *smile* I'm not even sure
which of my questions are related to blindness alternatives and which are
just general lack of knowledge of gardening.

Any ideas or resources are most welcome!
Julie
