[Blindtlk] What Do You Do when There's No Transportation?

Dear Jewel,

My advice would be similar to that of George Carlin when asked about the
people starving in Africa. He said, "Why don't they move to where the food
is?"
I would say that you should consider moving to where you can get the
transportation more easily and reliably.
I am sure that there maybe reasons why you have not done so and that you may
not have enough control over this situation, but you should consider it and
try. You likely have more to gain than to lose, but you must be the judge.I
would also say that you should contact your county commissioner or city
councilman, which ever the case may be, and ask for their help in either
informing you of all the transportation options available to you or to at
least try to get them to work on and fix the issue to help you.
Many times your local, (MPO) Metro Planning Organization, that is mandated
by federal law, may have some other options for you, such as a commuter van
service or car pool groups in your area.
Some non-profit organizations even have their own services that you might be
able to hook up with.
I still think that moving to a area where you can access the Public
Transportation Service is the best method.
Try contacting your local "211" information and referral services hot line
and see if they can help you.
If you lack funds to move, the 211 services could help you contact some
charities that might be able to give you money and other help in finding a
new place and moving too.
Just keep asking questions and thinking about it and sooner or later an
answer will come.
