But we're not so formal here as to expect the same things of our
list members' writing as we would if we were reading a business
letter or if we were an English teacher reading and grading a
formal paper, are we? I understand the importance of good
grammar, but I don't think we need to expect professional-grade
(if you will) writing in all emails to our list. If we were
writing something for professional purposes... well... that's
what spell check's for.

I don't know what you mean, here, by stepping back and laughing
at
ourselves. If we're writing for business or professional
purposes and
mangle spelling and sentence structure, it's no laughing matter.
Even
though standards for writing have been drastically lowered, these
days, it
doesn't mean that we need to lower our own standards and settle
for poor
sentence structure, bad grammar and poor spelling.

We need to step back and laugh at ourselves, and also help one
another.
We had a long day here in NY. The NFB of NY, and some members of
the NJ
Affiliate went on a cruse ship tour of the Norwegian Gem today.
We had an awesome time, the staff was great, we all were educated
about a
lot of things, they learned from us as well, and they implemented
braille
menus on the ship and will look to add to the rest of the fleet.
HArd work pays off, I have been working hand in hand with the
cruise line,
and they are working hard with us. We had a total of 18 people,
5 were
sighted, one guide dog mine, the were a few that cancelled the
last minute
that had guide dogs, but there was suppose to be 4 in total.
I will write more about it for the braille monitor. But it was a
busy day
for us the blind and for us working with a company who is trying
to make
things better.

um does you teacher read braille.
Also watch your spelling since is spelled s I n c e, no sence.
Being blind and know how to read and write braille we need to
know how to spell correctly.
This is just some friendly advice, in school I grew up sighted,
and had very strong family with spelling, grammar is another
issue but spelling important.
As a grown up, I remind my daughter, so forgive the correction.

Hello everyone,
I have a geometry exam next week and my teacher told us that
we
can use one sheet of notebook paper front and back for
anything
that we don't feel comfortable with or are a little unsure of.
So my question is, how many pages is that in Braille? I've
heard
that for every page and Braille is only is only half a page in
print, but sence geometrry have so much pictures, wouldn't
that
take up more space than words?
I hope this makes sence. And I have to do it because my
teacher
is grading it as a quiz grade.
