[Blindtlk] exercise equipment information

Hi Sarah
I have been a bodybuilder in the past and am now trying to maintain good
physical conditioning as I grow older. I own an eliptical machine that I
bought from WalMart as nothing but a supplement to my gym workouts. But
after losing my vision it is now my primary cardio workout. I don't use any
of the controls on the machine but instead measure the success of my
workouts by my heart rate. If I need to get my heart up I just go faster.
>From my past experience I can fairly accurately tell that if I have my heart
rate at the target rate I am burning about 11 - 12 calories per minute. Yes
it would be nice to have those numbers showing me my efforts but I honestly
don't think they influence the efforts of my workouts. Save the extra money
you would have spent on an accessible machine

and buy a pulse monitor.

Hello everyone. I have a rowing machine from concept 2 but am thinking about
purchasing an elliptical or a treadmill? Is there an elliptical or a
treadmill that is accessible for the blind? Thank you.
    Sarah
