    What is a Mac mini? Please fill me in on the features, compairing it to 
a regular laptop.

Well, I don't know about more expensive.  You can get a Mac mini for just 
about $7.00 or so  and have Voice Over built in.  No more trying to get 
authorization keys, no more unstable behavior, no more exorbent prices that 
poor blind people can't pay.  But, there's another side to it.  There's 
quite a learning curve.  Do not go in to this expecting the Mac to behave 
like windows.  It ain't gonna  happen.  It took me about two or three weeks 
to get my head around the concepts.  Very easy once you get used to it; but, 
be duely warned, it's not windows; and, you'll find yourself frustrated if 
you go in to this expecting windows-like behavior.
