[Blindtlk] antivirus programs multiple antivirus programs

In a way, I did answer your question. To my way of thinking, the answer is
"no". but, in truth, each program has advantages and disadvantages. There is
no one program that protects against everything, if only because people are
continually inventing newnuisances for us. This goes for the sighted as much
as the blind. I used Spybot for many years as well as AdAware until it began
to be inaccessible. For a while, I just used Microsoft Security Essentials
and, frankly, itworked quite well despite what its detractors might have
said. I used Kaspersky antivirus which worked well but was a bear to use due
to inaccessibility of some of its features. Right now, I'm using GFI
Software's Vipre Internet security; before, I used Vipre Antivirus. Both
programs are very accessible and I haven't encountered any problems since
using them. These programs are the ones System access people recommend and
they are right IMO. But as long as the various malware suppression programs
can coexist, it certainly doesn't hurt to use more than one since each tends
to look for different threats. The problem is that sometimes these programs
interfere with each other and they may even interfere with legitimate
programs. For example, Kaspersky Antivirus often won't let Apple Software be
downloaded using iTunes so you have to turn Kaspersky off in order to do
those downloads.

I get theimpression that what you're *really* looking for is something very
simple, easy-to-use and something you can decide on once and then "set and
forget". Unfortunately, the computer world -- yes, even the Apple computer
world -- isn't like that. I wish it were otherwise.

Is it really necessary to have Malwarebytes, Spin Search and Destroy for
blind users, AND AVast?
