[Blindtlk] advice looking for an apartment in New York NY

Greetings,

I'll be moving to the New York city area this summer where my boyfriend and I will be getting an apartment together. We are wanting to look at all of our options. We are looking for advice. We'd like to avoid income based housing, but we are not ruling it out. We are also really considering a private thing like renting an apartment or even a small space of someone's house that they wish to rent out. Any advice anyone could offer would be great. this includes statin and long islands as our choices.
Also if there is anyone that may own a house, or have space for rent I'd deffently like to hear from you as a possible option.
