Hello all you helpful and knowledgeable folks!

I'm hoping you can help me with suggestions of alarm clocks you like and
that work long term. I've had really bad luck with alarm clocks
lately. The last two or three have not lasted for more than a few
months or a year at the most. What I'm specifically looking for is:
something that talks, like every button you push, turn or slide tells
you what you've changed. I don't want to memorize combination of
buttons or only be 95% sure I've got the thing set to the correct time
to wake up. *smile*

I'd really like something with a radio. I do much better waking up with
music instead of an obnoxious beeping or automated rooster. *smile* I
also like to listen to the radio other times of the day when I'm
cleaning or putting away clothes in there. If it played CD's that would
be mega awesome!

I don't want anything that you set by voice, meaning I talk to the clock
to set it or check the time. I've had one of these and it was annoying
in the extreme. If there was a thunderstorm or the neighbor's dog was
barking it would trigger the clock.

I don't need multiple alarms or vibrating features or anything like
that. What I really want is an accessible version of what I used to use
when I had better vision. Just a plain old am/fm alarm clock...but that
CD thing would be cool!

All ideas, suggestions or what to avoid would be most appreciated!

Thanks muchly!
Julie
