[Blindtlk] Fw: Mass. school electrocutes blind girl

Good morning Michelle and everyone,

Just as a quick follow-on I'm not alone where having experienced such
abuse by outfits of this kind are concerned. If Joanne Jordan is on this
list she also attended the Boston Center for Blind Children and experienced
some of the same treatment and witnessed myself and others being "Punished"
in such a horrendous way. Her mother refused to allow her to stay over night
due to the abuse complaints she heard
about from other students and possibly some parents. She was a trustee on
their board of directors and tried to bring about change for the better but
the administration wouldn't budge.

Many years later I learned that the center's director was fond of the
bottle and sometimes drank while on-the-job. She was terminated in late
1969. As late as 1977 I heard that abusive practices were still going on at
the BCBC. Other Perkins Alumni who had the unfortunate experience to end up
at the center also tell similar stories. this is no urban legend.

I've heard of this and have signed this petition.
I was extremely angry to learn of this!
