FHi Diane,
I was told by someone at the national office that this is a common problem. If you have enough sight or have someone handy who does, they said to simply use an epoxy glue on the joint, first pulling the sleeve part out of the top of the cane that has slid up into it. If you don't want to do that, call and see if they will repair it. I sent mine back in late August and again in September and got it repaired for free. I initially bought my cane in Dallas at the convention.
