That is so way cool!!!

The instant I get back from church, I imagine that most here will
be able to guess what I'll do.

Anyhow, I believe we were welcoming Jasmine, who, doubtless, is
wondering just what she's gone and stumbled in to. Well,
Jasmine, what you are seeing is what can sometimes happen when
two blind people who have something they are deeply passionate
about find each other. Carly, a 28-year-old, and I, a
47-year-old. Not dropping any hints, mind you, just that we two
are blind and have discovered a particular characteristic which
we both share and are passionate about.

 Good morning, Constantly Barefooted Ray!!!

So do I, go barefooted every place I can. And, as for stepping
on things, it's sort of the nature of the beast doncha think?
you're a blink, you're bound to step on things. So what?
I tend to be open to such a risk, if it means going barefooted.
Ya ever heard of John Kay from the band Steppenwolf? He came
from Louisiana. I have always wanted to hang out in Louisiana,
myself. someone asked the question as to whether a blind person
should go barefooted or not, they posited that the answer was
"no". This was because we might step on something; not being
able to see and all. I saw replies from some who agreed with
this; and, replies from others, such as myself, who "love to go
barefooted!". Most, sort of came down somewhere in the middle.
As for me, I don't just go barefooted inside; but also, I go
barefooted outside every chance and place I can. Keeps one's
feet nice and callused and tough.

Okay. Now, I'm going to answer your question. I'm from Houma
Louisiana, (about fifty miles south west of New Orleans and still
recovering from Isaac). Last Tuesday night was the worst of all
for us. No damage to my home though.

 PS.

My blindness is caused by what they nowadays call ROP.
Retinopaty of Prematurity. They used to call it RFP. Would you
believe it, they had to give me 18 bottles of oxygen to stay
alive when I was born.

 Interesting to find you here.

You are now added to my contacts.

 Sincerely,
 The Constantly Barefooted Ray!!!

 Hi, Ray,

I dunno what are your reasons for going barefoot, but, I also
prefer a barefooted, means of experiencing my immediate,
environment because I just CANNOT imagine doing without myriad,
sensation, and other informations available via one's feet!
I am really uncomfortable while inside, wearing shoes!
Glad to find others with a same, quirk! Where are you from? I am
from Berkeley, California and am 28 years old, a total (thanks to
bienucleation from Bi rb.)PM 9/1/2012, Ray Foret Jr wrote:
 Oh, let's see.

One time, somebody asked the question as to whether a blind
person should go barefooted or not. Guess by my signature what I
said.

Actually, I said that, whether or not a blind person does that
may well depend on many things; but, never should it depend on
blindness.

Well, that's the lighter side. We do, however and very very
often, discuss some very serious matters here. Somebody wants
help with something, for example, we try to offer the best advice
we can on the matter. Important NFB news updates with respect to
the NFB are posted here. IF our help is needed with respect to
various legislative matters, such requests can be found here.

 Hi!
That's great! What kinds of topics do you discuss? I think they
had some examples on the website, but I'm curious as to what
other things are talked about. :)

Well, Jasmine, welcome to the list. My name is Raymond; but,
please call me Ray. I insist.

Anyhow, we tend to have some interesting times on this list; by
which I mean, we usually all get along quite well and have
discussions the like of which you will find quite stimulating.
