[Blindtlk] /Monopoly

Mike, I hate to sound like a complete idiot, but this is part of the
problem, my ignorance. I hate to admit it in this group, but I don't even
no what a URL is, so I can't tell you. God I hate looking stupid like this,
but this is part of the frustration. Everyone else seems to know this
stuff, I feel like I'm from the dark ages. Is this a 64 bit machine? I
think so. I know this version of JAWS is 64 bits. All I know is that with
my old clunker of a machine and XP, it was so much easier to do some of this
stuff. I have been struggling ever since I got this thing.

Mark:

I can't help you on the game but if you'll give me a URL, I'll see if I can
download it.

Don't be so hasty to vilify windows 7. There are a few features that are
different and, therefore, take some getting used to by an inveterate XP
aficionado. However, there are some features in Windows 7 that are very
handy. It may not be Windows 7 at all: is your machine a 64-bit machine? Do
you know if the Monopoly game will work on 64-bit systems?

Let's put our thinking caps on.

Mike

Hello, friends,

I’m going to “lower the boom”, so to speak. Any of you familiar with Jim
Kitchen and his text to speech games? Those of you on these lists who have
heard me whining about Windows 7 and how limited I think it is and are sick
and tired of it, please feel free to tweet me out if there is a tweet
filter. Jim Kitchen has wonderful free games, including my all-time
favorite, monopoly. Yes, I am probably addicted. Anyway, I have been
trying and trying to download it properly and I have become convinced that
it is not workable with Windows 7. Of course it is possible that my
settings are off, which would be nothing new with this machine, I suppose
that’s what you get when you purchase a computer at Wal-Mart. When I try to
unzip files, I get weird messages such as “can’t create an output file and
it doesn’t work. I challenge anyone to tell me that this is workable. Don’t
mind my tone, I’m just frustrated that the idiots at Microsoft inadvertently
limited us this way. So, do you have any ideas, and if not, does anyone
know of a talking speech-friendly monopoly game? Also, does anyone know how
to get autocomplete on Windows live mail. Thank you, before my JAWS runs
out.
