[Blindtlk] Comcast shows off talking box software

The best answer I can give you, based on the little I do know, is this. First, to get the accessible box software, we will have to wait. It is not yet actually publicly available. And, it probably won't be until at least the end of the year or perhaps next year.

The second factor to consider, is, that in order to get access to the talking software, you probably need at least the X one or ask to platform. If you do not have either one of those, then, access to the talking software is probably not possible.

You have to remember, that, this stuff is and it's beginning development stages. And, that is why I was surprised to see it on the Comcast YouTube channel at all.

So, all your questions about why can't you tell what program is on now etc., they will have to be solved in the way that you saw on the YouTube video. As for the capture on the website, I am going to write to Tom about that and asking. I do know, that it is something of which they are aware. You cannot expect it all at once, just be patient, and it will come in time. Remember, that this time last year, they were not even thinking along the lines which the YouTube video demonstrates. I know it seems like an excuse; but, you just have to give these things which are in their first stages of development time to actually be pushed out into the network. But, they will come.

Hi, Constantly Barefooted,

If indeed the NFB maintains a friendly if not courjal relationship with Comcast, why then, isn't more of Comcast's infrastructure accessable? Like, why can't I tell which Comcast chanel I am watching? And, why can't I see when my show's slated to air??
In my view, Comcast is blowin' it by it's lack of catering to the blind special interest! , Ray Foret jr wrote:
