Mary,
I have never known it to be free unless you and your doctor complete a form
provided by your phone company stating that because of blindness, you should
be able to get it for free. The other thing you can do is dial free 411,
that is 800-373-3411. That allows you to call directory assistance free.

Isn't calling 411 free?
I made a directory assistance call and thought it was free. It used to be
free to ask for a local number. Isn't supposed to be free?
