Try to find an employee who can either pick you up or take you home; the
taking you home part is better so you don't miss work or be late due to the
fellow employee.

Subject: [Blindtlk] A List Newbee and a Question About Small Town Life and
Blindness

Hello,
My name is Chris and I am a very new member of this list.

I am currently living in NC in One reason that I am interested in joining
this list is that I have just moved to a very tiny town with spotty
paratransportation and I am in a semi-rural area. Thus, although things are
not too far from where I live (including where I will be working starting
this week, groceries...) they are not accessible on foot. Thus, I would love
any advice other small-towners have for a newbie to small town life. I am a
bit stressed since I am not sure how I will be doing transportation starting
in July since the Paratransit system noted that they are likely going to
lose their funding for transportation at that time.

A little more about who I am:). I am a guide dog user from GEB and have a
wonderful and extremely mellow yellow lab named Armand. I am totally blind
and hav been so for the last about 13 years. I am originally from Ohio but
moved to NC for a job opportunity.

Any helpful hints, advice, or suggestions would be very sincerely
appreciated.
With very warm regards,
Chris
