If you want to work there, I say apply. There is never going to be a job
that has all the accommodations worked out in advance. Go in with a
positive, can do, attitude and be open to learning and trying new things and
you will be fine.
Is this something that you would continue part time while you attend school?

Subject: [Blindtlk] Job Questions...
Hi Everyone:
It looks like I won't be going back to school until January, so in the
meantime I am considering getting a job or even part-time job to keep
me busy.
There is a company here called Teletech. They are a worldwide customer
service based company where it's sort of like a call center. They have
locations all over the country including places such as Austin, Texas,
and Englewood, Colorado among many others. You answer calls from
customers about their Bank of America accounts. Teletech is always
looking for customer service representatives, but right now they are
currently looking for as many as 25 people to work as customer service
representatives! That is a lot of people they are wanting to hire!!
I am considering applying and trying to get a job there.
However, the problems I can see with this job are tthe accomodations.
First of all, has anyone ever heard of Teletech? Do you know anything about
it?
Do you know of any blind people who currently work there, or if not
currently, do you know of any blind people who have worked there in
the past?
Does anyone on these lists or that I am sending this to know with
technology being the way it is if it is even still possible for a
blind person to work in customer service?
Does anyone know if the software Teletech uses is accessible with a
screenreader?
Should I still apply and go in and talk to them anyway or should I
just forget it because of the accomodations that will have to be made?
As I said previously, 25 people is a lot of people they are looking to
hire, and I'm tired of sitting around!
Thanks so much!
Kerri
