Amen. That was a great tribute, David, and I echo Bryan's sentiments below
also.

I remember Adriene as a person with a razor-sharp mind and an impeccable
sense of logic. And she expressed my feelings as a baby-boomer who thought
the World was his Oyster until he hit the wall of discrimination.

If an afterlife exists (I personally think one does not), give 'em hell,
Adrienne. Don't let God or The Gods grind you down!

Thanks David for this lovely tribute... Adrienne had a powerful mind, an
immense heart, and was unfailingly generous and encouraging... She's left us
far too soon, and I will very much miss her.  She was always super
supportive of me as I slogged my way through my doctoral studies... She
always made me feel that the work I was doing was meaningful and important,
all the while it was her work that served as the foundation to so much
scholarship that followed and will continue to follow.

I just heard of the passing of Dr. Adrian Ashe who served for many years
with me on the NFB scholarship committee. She was one of those whom I always
enjoyed. She was a professor of bio ethics, a field which I know little
about, and Adrian threatened to explain it to me on numerous occasions. To
my mind, though, she was important for an entirely different reason. She had
absolutely no sense of direction, which she freely admitted, and yet
traveled successfully using just a cane and her wits. I have used her
numerous times when talking about travel, and learning how to ask for
assistance, and still remain in control. She is one of the most intelligent
people I know, and I will miss her. So, as a final direction, Adrian, go in
the direction of your head when you are standing. You'll find someone to
give you more direction as you go up. Thank you for being.
