Turn on your Stream. Press the 7 key (Menu Key) until you here "Recording Type". Then use the 4 and 6 keys to choose from the various format, e.g., MP3. Hit the Pound key to make that permanent; then hit the Star key to get out of the menus.

You may use Humanware Companion on your PC to convert the .3gp files to a .WAV file and then use something like TotalRecorder to convert the .WAV file to .MP3.

Hello. I’ve been using the VR stream for recording my church services for about a year now. The files were always mp3 format, but yesterday they changed to 3gb or 3gp format, not sure which. I’d like to know how to change it back, if there is a way.
