Yes, they are operating out of fear of the unknown.  Too bad this guy wasn't 
willing to learn how easy we are to assist and how capable we are.

I think that the people who are the most likely to believe we can't do 
anything, are the ones who wouldn't be able to do anything themselves if 
they went blind. They think that since they couldn't be independent, that 
it's impossible for anyone. It's always the hardest to educate the ones who 
are afraid to learn.
