I won't sware that that collar would have saved him from me; nor the fact
that we are standing in a church. Sure, those who ware the cloth should be
given their respect, but he showed you no respect when he said that, as a
matter of fact, that was very disrespectful. The preacher owes you the same
amout of respect as he is entitled from you.

I had a pastor say to me "you should be just happy singing in the choir."
Had this guy not been in the sanctuary and wearing a collar I would heave
decked him. He's gone and the current pastor sees me as not only a valued
person equal to all other members, but a leader of the church to boot. The
arrogant pastor wouldn't let me teach Sunday school any longer after I had a
seizure in church. There's always someone else in the room and Jesus hung
with all the outcasts so I feel this pastor was nuts. There's safety to be
concerned about, but since it didn't happen all the time I don't think that
decision was for him to make without asking me. I also think he put in a
transfer just as his kids became old enough to attend classes. I definitely
agree we all have our place and talents to share. God wouldn't have given
them to us otherwise. The former pastor and many others in faith are sadly
misunderstanding what it means to be blind. Those who try to pray for our
sight or other medical condition to be healed are more blind than we are.

Everyone has a place at the table in my book.
