                  Extension of Comment Period for Proposed Rule -- Movie 
Captioning and Audio Description
                  The U.S. Department of Justice (Department) proposed 
regulation was published in the Federal Register on August 1, 2014, and the 
comment period was to close on September 30, 2014; however, on September 2, 
2014, the Attorney General granted a 60-day extension of the comment period. 
All comments on the proposed rule for Movie Captioning and Audio Description 
in Movie Theaters are now due on December 1, 2014.

                  The Department encourages the public to review the NPRM 
and submit comments. Comments may be submitted on the regulations.gov 
website or by mail at the following addresses: Regular U. S. mail: 
Disability Rights Section, Civil Rights Division, U. S. Department of 
Justice, P. O. Box 2885, Fairfax, VA 22031-0885; Overnight, courier, or hand

                  The unofficial copy of the Notice Extending the Comment 
Period is available on the Department's website at ada.gov. The official
