Don't assume that the vocational school has only hands on things like engineering and welding. Investigate first with your counselor. I would talk to your VR counselor on a more personal level two. Make sure she understands your whole situation at home and that you have little support. She probably has someone else that can help you with the more emotional parts of your message.
Don't go through this alone and it's okay to ask for help. Sounds like what you had was abuse from all sides.
