[Blindtlk] [Blindly] [Blindly] brailling or typing?

HI,
  The below post leads me to an interesting question. As I mentioned in my earlier post, I prefer typing over brailling,  primarily I think, because I can type much faster than I can braille, even with contractions.

  For me, the likely reason is that I learned braille around age 7 and then they stopped my braille reading at around age 9 since I had some ability to read print and my teachers wanted me using print if possible. Then in 9th grade I again picked it up, but just when needed since I still, at the time, had usable enough vision to see print. They figured it would come in handy if I ever lost my vision (which obviously it has since I did lose all of my vision several years later). However, in contrast, I began typing around age 8 or 9 and have consistently been typing ever since.

  Ok, after all of that:), here is my question, or more of a discussion starter than an actual question. I can not help wondering if the likelihood that people prefer braille over typing or typing over braille is based on how long they have used it. For example, in the message below the preference is for braille and braille has been used consistently from an early age whereas my case is very inconsistent between typing and braille (I actually have typed for a much larger chunk of my life than brailed) and I am a much more confident  typist.

Coming in a bit late on this thread of per usual. But I'm a brailler  using a braille edge to write this post to you fine people.  Been using braille since the first grade.  I am mildly dyslexic  and no matter that I've been typing since the sixth grade and have put some serious effort into it, it has never and I don't think  will  ever be as intuitive as braille is for me. Because of course that's a very personal thing. The manner in which we choose !communicate with others.
