[Blindtlk] When to Exchange Cane Tips?

Hi All,
 I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend!!

  Just a quick question for  any cane users out there. When should you replace the cane tip? In other words, how do you know when it is at a point where it is no longer good... I have not yet gotten to a point with a tip where I have had to do this but just do not want to end up using a tip that is too far gone to be of value. I am using a roller tip so am especially interested in those types if it differs from tip type to tip type.
