You might think of it as a braille form of what used to be called Brief Hand. More short form words, and more symbols.
And, just to add to the confusion, there was a Braille Shorthand. The only living person I know who may still know it is Nadine Jacobson from MN. As I remember, she learned it from Mable Nading at the Iowa Commission.

Hi All,
Is there such a thing as Grade 3 braille? I have never heard of this before but just came across two manuals on BARD that are for grade 3 braille.
If this is a real thing, I would be really interested to know how it differs from contracted (grade 2) braille. Like I said, I have never heard of this but I may just not be familiar with it.
